Welcome to Mauni VR, a virtual reality application designed to support addiction treatment by enabling therapists and clients to meet in immersive virtual environments. Mauni VR is developed and operated by Evrience (“we,” “us,” “our”), in collaboration with Mauni GGZ.
This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed when using Mauni VR and how that data is handled and protected.
1. Data We Collect
Mauni VR does not require users to create independent application accounts.
Authentication, user identity, and access credentials are handled exclusively through the Meta Horizon / Meta Quest platform. Evrience does not collect or store login credentials such as email addresses or passwords.
During use of the Service, Mauni VR may process the following categories of data:
Meta Horizon user ID and profile name (for session presence only)
Session-related interaction data required to support therapeutic continuity
Environment state data related to personalized VR environments
No data is collected for advertising or commercial profiling purposes.
2. Purpose of Data Processing
Data processed within Mauni VR is used solely to:
Facilitate therapy sessions between counselors and clients
Enable shared VR environments during treatment sessions
Support continuity between sessions
Maintain safety, stability, and proper functioning of the Service
All processing is limited to therapeutic and operational purposes.
3. Meta Platform Data
Mauni VR uses Meta Horizon platform features, including:
Avatars: Visual representation of users in VR
User ID and profile name: Used to identify users during live sessions
Invites: Used to connect therapists and clients in shared VR environments
Meta Horizon user data is not stored outside of Meta’s systems.
4. User ID and Profile Information
User ID and profile name are accessed only to display usernames above avatars during active sessions.
This information is not stored, logged, or retained after sessions end.
5. Voice Communication
Mauni VR includes real-time voice communication during therapy sessions.
Voice chat is used only during live sessions
Users may mute or unmute themselves at any time
Voice data is not recorded, stored, or replayed after sessions conclude
6. Data Storage
Session-related data required for therapeutic continuity may be securely stored on Evrience-managed servers.
This data is protected using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards and is accessible only to authorized parties involved in providing the Service.
7. Support Communication
If users contact Evrience for support, they may voluntarily provide personal information such as an email address.
This information is used solely to respond to the support request and is deleted once the request has been resolved.
To request deletion of support correspondence, users may contact info@evrience.com.
8. Sharing and Disclosure
Evrience does not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties.
Information may be disclosed only if required by Dutch law or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of Evrience, Mauni VR, Mauni GGZ, or users of the Service.
9. Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed within Mauni VR. However, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.
10. User Rights and Data Requests
Users may submit questions or requests regarding data processing to Evrience.
Where applicable under Dutch law and healthcare regulations, requests for access or deletion of stored data will be reviewed and handled appropriately.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
Changes will be communicated via the application or through updates on the Evrience website. The “Effective Date” indicates the current version.
